A Vibrant Outdoor Playground

The blazing colors of autumn set a spectacular scene for your next outdoor adventure in the Driftless Region. Before the bitter cold transforms our area into a winter wonderland, plan a memorable fall adventure in the crisp air of Viroqua, WI.

Fall Fishing

Cooling waters in autumn mean more active trout, creating one more chance to try your hand at fly fishing. Explore more than 13,000 miles of trout creeks across 5 million acres of public land for some of the most legendary trout fishing in the country. And as always, the friendly experts at Driftless Curiosity and Driftless Angler are always ready to lend a hand with fly fishing courses and guided trips, ensuring your fishing excursion lives up to the hype.

On the Trail

What better way to get an up-close peek at the magnificent Wisconsin fall foliage than stepping out into the wilderness of the Driftless Area? Exploring the trails of the Viroqua area is remarkably simple with maps, conditions, and amenities catalogued by both Bluedog Cycles and local nonprofit Vernon Trails. Interested in foraging or recipes using all-natural ingredients? The experts at Driftless Folk School offer classes so you can head out into the wilderness with a keen, discerning eye.
