You’re invited to join a two day self defense workshop for women and girls ages 12 and up taught by local 5th degree black belt martial arts instructor and midwife Melanie Martinez. Girls 12-15 must be accompanied by an adult registered for the training. The workshop will be both hands on and informative instruction.

Learn how to differentiate between Social and A-Social violence, develop situational awareness skills, understand emotional and social ramifications of facing violence, practice various physical self defense skills and body mechanics. Leave with skills that build your confidence in any situation and that can be practiced at home. There will be 2-3 adult men from the Coulee Roots Movement martial arts program acting as assistants and training partners for the event.
