June Guest Artist Gabriel Berg
VIVA Gallery guest artist in June is Gabriel Berg. Gabriel is a self taught artist who
grew up in rural Minnesota. He now resides in the Driftless region of Wisconsin.
Gabriel is a fiber artist working with threads, threads woven into detailed masterful
works of art. Symmetry and balance is evident in each piece giving a natural zen
and spiritual feeling to them.
In Gabriel’s artist bio he states that as a disabled artist the methodical lines and
harmony of the mandala and sacred geometry help him to embrace the complexity
and simplicity of his life. He’s learned to manage his disabilities through holistic
and natural options in living. His approach to his art work is beneficial to his mental,
physical and emotional health. He’s found comfort and enjoyment in the making of
his artwork that has added quality to his life.
June 6 is 1st Thursday, 5pm to 7pm. Come meet Gabriel and see his wonderful
work. He will tell us more about his work and answer questions. At VIVA Gallery
along with the work of our guest artist you will see creative, imaginative, functional
and decorative art by VIVA Gallery Cooperative members, all made locally.
