Urinetown: The Musical is a satirical comedy musical that premiered in 2001, with music by Mark Hollmann, lyrics by Hollmann and Greg Kotis, and book by Kotis.[1] It satirizes the legal system, capitalism, social irresponsibility, populism, bureaucracy, corporate mismanagement, and municipal politics. The show also parodies musicals such as The Threepenny Opera, The Cradle Will Rock and Les Misérables, and the Broadway musical itself as a form.

Since 2007, we’ve entertained audiences from the Driftless region and beyond with performances that bring giggles, sighs, and sometimes a few tears. For a few short hours, you can escape the day-to-day and revel in the talent of your neighbors, co-workers, and friends.

We seek participation from community members of all ages, sizes, races, genders, backgrounds, abilities, and experience levels who are the “community” at the heart of our organization, and we invite you to join us.  And community expands well beyond Viroqua and Vernon county – we encourage folks from all around the region to become involved.
