“This Place, These Faces” – Driftless Region Painters at VIVA
May 1 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Viroqua’s Driftless Region Painters group is a loose group of artists who have been gathering together on Wednesdays since the early ‘90s to draw and paint the figure and landscape directly from life. They have gone through many iterations as a group, meeting at various studios and painting locations throughout the years. During the winter months they meet to study the figure, and in the warmer months they gather outdoors to paint the landscape of the beautiful Driftless region they call home. Currently, the artists that come together hail not only from Vernon County but also from Crawford, Richland, La Crosse, and Monroe counties as well. They are forever thankful to the people of this place who are willing to sit so they can practice their craft. This show is a small sampling of the figurative work the group has completed over recent open studio sessions.
Join us for our 1st Thursday Opening Reception May 1st, and meet the Driftless Region Painters, hear their stories, and see the beautiful individual styles of each. Enjoy the work of the guest artists along with that of VIVA Gallery members. We have food too! Start your evening at the gallery and then go to dinner at one of the many fine restaurants in town.
May 1, 5:00pm to 7:00pm, is the opening reception of this May show. You can visit VIVA Gallery anytime during open hours. The gallery is located at 217 Main Street in Viroqua.
