Gardening Workshop
In the morning session, Farmer Rufus Haucke, of Keewaydin Farms, will teach a workshop on regenerative gardening, sharing his 20 years of organic farming experience, filled with discovery, successes, failures, funny stories, and learning to grow together with the life in the soil through no-till practices. He’ll start by laying the groundwork of philosophy and research and then take you through the step-by-step process of setting up and managing your garden.
Tasting & Pairing Workshop with Noble Rind Artisan Cheese
In the Driftless, we love a little cheese and wine with our veggies! So, in the afternoon session, we’re excited to collaborate with our friend and cheese connoisseur, Sarah Clemens, from Noble Rind Artisan Cheese. Sarah will present a special tasting and pairing workshop featuring Keewaydin vegetables, local cheeses, and assorted beverages! Sarah will lead a demonstration and discussion on bringing together the local love of gardens, creameries, vineyards, and breweries in a series of six small plates. After tasting these Driftless trilogies, participants can take home the knowledge and ingredients to share the love at their next gathering.
The Driftless is truly a special place where farmers, food artisans, and small businesses grow together to create a culture of interconnected flavors with deeply rooted meaning. We hope this learning opportunity inspires you to grab your gardening hat and work up an appetite for this flavorful immersion on the farm.
