“Getting Ready for What Comes Next: Strategies for Building Climate Resilience in the Driftless” – Conservation on Tap

April 8 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

Join Ellen Voss, the River Alliance’s Climate Resilience Director, in a discussion of Wisconsin’s changing climate. In the Driftless, intense rainfall, extended summer droughts, and extreme flooding events have become commonplace, and aging infrastructure like roads, culverts, and dams built for a different climate reality are no longer up to the challenge. As we brace for the uncertainties that lie ahead, it can feel empowering to be prepared instead of being forced to react. Ellen will discuss how as a community we can prepare, respond, recover, and adapt to the impacts of a changing climate and provide practical strategies for how we can best prepare ourselves and our landscapes to be resilient to whatever comes next.
